Choux pastry is a versatile dough that can be used to create a variety of different pastries and desserts. It is a staple in French pastry and is enjoyed around the world for its light and airy texture and delicious taste.
Ingredients
2 OZ / 65 ML water
2 OZ / 65 ML milk
2 OZ / 55 G butter
0.25 TSP salt
2 TSP sugar
2.5 OZ / 75 G flour
1 EA egg
1 EA egg yolk
Directions
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 360°F. Add your milk, water, butter, salt and sugar into the mixing bowl. Cook your mix in sauté mode for 3 minutes with the measuring cup removed. Once cooked, scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl.
Insert your butterfly whisk into the mixing bowl. Add the flour through the hole in the lid. Cook your batter for 6 minutes / 212°F|100°C / speed 2 / stir.
TIP: Add the flour straight away after the butter is melted.
Allow the mixture to cool down for 2 minutes, then mix your egg in a small bowl. With the measuring cup removed, beat your eggs into the batter through the hole on the lid with the butterfly whisk inserted for 2 minutes / speed 3 / stir.
Place your batter in a piping bag with a round nozzle, then cook your choux as desired. Bake for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
