Ingredients
9 OZ / 250 G all-purpose flour
5.5 OZ / 150 G cold unsalted butter
1.5 TSP fine sea salt
6 EA egg
5.5 OZ / 150 ML heavy cream
0.75 TSP black pepper
2 TBSP olive oil
1 EA onion
5.5 OZ / 150 G ham
5.5 OZ / 150 G shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Add your flour, butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 egg to the mixing bowl. With the measuring cup inserted, combine until the dough comes together for 30 seconds / speed 4. Transfer dough to a piece of plastic wrap, press into a disc, wrap tightly, and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Wash and dry the mixing bowl.
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F. Peel and quarter your onion, then add it to the mixing bowl. With the measuring cup inserted, chop your onion for 6 seconds / speed 5. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl.
Add your oil to the mixing bowl. With the measuring cup removed, sauté your onion using sauté mode for 5 minutes / 250°F|120°C. While your onion cooks, dice your ham into small cubes. Once the onion is cooked, remove it from the mixing bowl and set aside. You don't need to clean the mixing bowl out at this point.
Add the remaining eggs, cream, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl. Mix with the measuring cup inserted for 25 seconds / speed 5.
Spray a 24cm (9.5-inch) tart pan with a removable bottom with cooking spray. Roll out the pastry dough on a lightly floured countertop and gently press the dough into the edges of the pan and up the sides. Add the ham, cooked onion and grated cheese over the pie base. Pour the egg-cream mixture over the top. Bake on the bottom rack of the oven for 40 minutes or until set and lightly browned.
Let the tart cool for 15 minutes, then remove the pan ring. Enjoy your meal!
