This Aussie spread brings a salty umami taste that you cannot resist. Made from nutritional yeast, malt extract and black sesame seed, you can spread this on your toast or make our Vegemite Scroll!
Ingredients
2 OZ / 50 G black sesame seed
3 OZ / 80 ML vegetable oil
2 TBSP malt extract
2 TBSP nutritional yeast
1.5 TSP sea salt
2 TBSP apple cider vinegar
Directions
Add your black sesame seeds to the mixing bowl. With the measuring cup removed, toast your seeds using the sauté mode for 5 minutes / 250°F|120°C.
Insert your measuring cup and grind your seeds with the measuring cup inserted for 45 seconds / speed 10. Scrape down the sides.
Add your nutritional yeast, salt, malt, and vinegar to the mixing bowl. Blend your mix with the measuring cup turned upside down for 2 minutes / speed 3. Whilst your mix is spinning, slowly pour your vegetable oil in to emulsify the mix.
Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl and with the measuring cup inserted, process the vegemite for 1 minute / speed 10. Empty into a container. It will last for months in the fridge.

TIPS:
Make sure you use very good salt like sea salt flakes.
Use sparingly because it will be quite salty to taste.
