Homemade Apple Pie is surely everyone's favorite. This is a combination of the fresh and tender apple filling inside the crumbly, flaky pastry. Let Multo take you back in time to your grandma's sweet home during the holidays.
Ingredients
26.5 OZ / 750 G shortcrust pastry
3 EA cooking apple
1 TBSP cornstarch
2 OZ / 50 ML water
3.5 OZ / 100 G sugar
Directions
Peel the apples, remove the core, quarter and slice the apples thinly. Once done, add the apples to the mixing bowl.
Add the sugar to the mixing bowl. Insert the measuring cup and cook the apples for 10 minutes / 250°F|120°C / speed 1 / stir.
Add the cornstarch to a separate bowl and mix well with the water. Remove the measuring cup, then pour in the cornstarch mix through the hole on the lid when the blade rotates for 2 minutes / 250°F|120°C / speed 1 / stir. Once cooked, allow the mix to cool down in a separate bowl and clean out the mixing bowl well.
Using two-thirds of the pastry, roll out the pastry so it will fit into a 7-inch / 18-cm pie case. Once done, spoon the apple filling evenly across the cases.
Preheat your oven to 180°C / 360°F. Roll out the remaining pastry, and then place over the top, crimping the sides of the pie case with the back of a spoon. Once done, sprinkle a little more sugar over the top and bake for 35 minutes till the pastry is cooked and crispy.
