Flour tortillas are essential for Mexican gastronomy, specifically in the northern part of the country. They are delicious, easy to make and you can eat them to accompany any dish.
Made only with flour, butter, salt and water, this recipe is a must-try if you want to have a soft flatbread.
Ingredients
9 OZ / 250 G flour
2 OZ / 60 G butter (cold)
1 TSP salt
0.25 TSP baking powder
4 OZ / 120 ML water
Directions
Add the flour, butter, salt and baking powder to the mixing bowl. Knead for 30 seconds.
Add water little by little into the mixing bowl through the hole on the lid while it is mixing. Knead again for 1 minute.
Divide the dough into 24 small balls. Roll the tortillas with a little flour and shape them like a disc. Reserve for later.
Heat a griddle or a pan on high heat and place the tortilla. Cook it for a few seconds. When it starts forming bubbles, turn it over and cook for 10 seconds more.
Enjoy your dish!
