This simple and easy-to-make gluten free pie dough goes well with any filling!
Ingredients
4 OZ / 120 G brown rice flour
2 OZ / 50 G ground almonds
1.5 OZ / 40 G corn starch
1 TSP xanthan gum
0.5 TSP salt
2 OZ / 50 G butter
2 OZ / 50 G crisco shortening
2 OZ / 50 G golden brown sugar
1 EA egg
Directions
Cube the butter then add into the mixing bowl along with the shortening, ground almonds, rice flour, corn starch, xanthan gum, sugar and salt. Insert the measuring cup, knead for 45 seconds.
Beat the egg in a bowl then add the egg mix through the top hole until the dough is formed for 30 seconds. Each flour has a different water content so consistency may vary. You have to alter the amount of egg into the mix.
Remove the dough from the bowl. You can use the dough immediately as desired, there is no need to rest.
With this dough you should use it immediately. Enjoy!
