White beans cooked in a tangy sauce redolent of molasses and Worcestershire sauce. The perfect side dish for a backyard barbecue.
Ingredients
5.5 OZ / 150 G yellow onion
4 OZ / 115 G bacon
30 OZ / 800 G canned white beans
6 OZ / 175 ML vegetable stock
2 TBSP molasses
2 TBSP brown sugar
1 TBSP cider vinegar
1TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 TBSP yellow mustard
1 TBSP tomato paste
0.5 TSP salt
0.25 TSP cayenne pepper
Directions
Cut onion into quarters, then peel and cut out the root end. Add onion to mixing bowl.
Chop onion for 4 seconds / speed 7. Use spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Cut bacon into 1.5cm (0.5”) pieces. Add bacon to mixing bowl.
Remove the measuring cup and sauté for 6 minutes / 250°F|120°C / speed 1.
Drain beans in simmering basket, then rinse. Add beans, stock, molasses, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, tomato paste, salt, and cayenne to mixing bowl.
Cook the beans for 20 minutes / 212°F|100°C / speed 1 / stir.
Serve warm. Enjoy your meal!
