Make your bread yummier with our vegan-friendly Kale Hummus! Made with garbanzo beans, tahini and a hint of garlic, it's the perfect spread for any meal. Give it a go and let us know what you think!
Ingredients
4 SPRIGS fresh parsley
2 OZ / 50 G kale
14 OZ / 400 G canned garbanzo beans
0.5 TSP baking soda
17.5 OZ / 500 ML water
1 EA lemon
1 CLOVE garlic
2 OZ / 50 G tahini
1 TSP salt
4 TBSP olive oil
Directions
Add parsley and kale to the mixing bowl. Chop with the measuring cup inserted for 6 seconds / speed 8. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside. Rinse the mixing bowl.
Drain the garbanzo beans and add them to the mixing bowl with baking soda and water. Remove the measuring cup and cook for 5 minutes / 212°F|100°C / speed 1 / stir. Strain garbanzo beans through the simmering basket and let cool slightly.
TIP: If desired, reserve some of the cooking liquid for step 4.
Zest your lemon and squeeze the juice, then add them to the mixing bowl. Peel your garlic and add to the mixing bowl. Add tahini to the mixing bowl, along with the parsley mix. Blend hummus with the measuring cup inserted for 45 seconds / speed 8. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl with a spatula.
Add cooled garbanzo beans, salt and olive oil to the mixing bowl. Blend the hummus with the measuring cup inserted for 1 minute / speed 6.
TIP: For a thinner hummus, you can reserve some of the cooking liquid and add it to the bowl at this step.
